Apple Announces New CarPlay Partners

Apple has announced that more car manufacturers have committed to support CarPlay, its iOS experience in the car.

Newly listed partners include: Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Mazda, and RAM.


CarPlay equipped vehicles are expected this year from Ferrari, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo.

Does this mean that Nissan dropped out? I noticed that all of the car companies from the old list also appear in the new list, aside from a few, like Nissan. This would be a big turnoff for me since I love Nissan / Infinity and have been waiting for CarPlay to be showcased in Nissan's since the Keynote announced Nissan as a partner over a year ago.

You can get it with new Pioneer NEX units. One day when holy Apple allows the firmware release.

Yay, mazda is in there too:D maybe the OS can be ported over to older models like gen.1 and gen.2 RX-8 d 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen mazda 3s (with aftermarket console setup) #wishfulthinking
