Microsoft is touting Cortana, its new personal assistant, over Siri in a new ad entitled, 'Happy Anniversary'.

Say hello to Cortana, your new personal assistant. Cortana will remind you to leave early to beat traffic and help you get to your destination on time, will remind you that you need milk when passing the grocery store, and will remind you to say happy birthday when your mom calls. Available now on the new Nokia Lumia 635 and on other Lumia phones.

Interestingly, while Cortana only runs on Windows Phone at the moment, Microsoft is considering the idea of bringing it to iOS and Android.

Take a look at the video below...

Maybe it's because it's set to it.

Not as rotten to the soul over a freaking assistant. Why can't you jailbreak to change it then? It's not the end of the human race?

I could jailbreak yea, but man seriously, i love getting updates. and I hate having to go thru all the problems with trying to update a jailbroken phone. Trust me, I am a grandfather in jailbreaking. I've been doing it since the iphone 2G. Just recently I stopped jailbreaking and started following updates for my phone. you know some of my friends who still jailbreak, still have ios 6 on their iphone 4s or 5?! comparing their phones to mines? their phones UI's are ugly as hell! I like the feature to update! Jailbreaking for free apps and tweets seem useless now. I don't find myself ever really needing any of the tweeks nor playing any games. I have come to the enlighten realization that these mobile games are useless and a waste of my time and life! seriously guys stop playing games, I played candy crush until some ungodly high level (i can't remember which level exactly). but one day i decided i was bored and then i realized that i spent 100000 hours getting nowhere

"Cortana"? Do they really see users saying "Cortana" to their phones? These are the folks who tried to top the 'verb' "to Google" with, "to Windows Live Search", as in "gosh Betty, lemme just Windows Live Search that". Brad Silverberg, wherever you are please come back.

Hey Microsoft, stop trying to be better than other companies. Just try to be better than yourself (which would be pretty easy to do). But I don't really care who's better than who. You don't really need to talk about your competition when you're marketing your product. Strive to be better than that.

A company trying to bash Apple instead of telling us the benefits and merits of their product, how original...
