Apple has updated its trademark registration in Switzerland adding vehicles to the list of company activities.
Law firm Baker & McKenzie filed the change on behalf of Apple adding Nice Classification 12 to the company's trademark.
Vehicles; Apparatus for locomotion by land, air or water; electronic hardware components for motor vehicles, rail cars and locomotives, ships and aircraft; Anti-theft devices; Theft alarms for vehicles; Bicycles; Golf carts; Wheelchairs; Air pumps; Motorcycles; Aftermarket parts (after-market parts) and accessories for the aforesaid goods.
Apple is now widely rumored to be working on an electric vehicle, perhaps self-driving, with a team of 1,000 devoted to the project.

The automotive industry is no longer the American big three and imports--Tesla has proven that. Apple has the financial reserves and name recognition to pull it off; and if they don't? At least they tried; it won't break them as a company.
Matter of fact, battery technology applies to just about everything they make.
