Super Mario 64 HD Running on an iPhone 6 [Video]

This morning developer Erik Roystan Ross posted a playable version of Super Mario 64 HD built in Unity that runs in the browser. Ross recreated the first level of the game to showcase his Unity tool called 'Super Character Controller' which features a collection of functions that make character animation easier.

Since Unity projects can be ported to various operating systems, James Fietch from Mobot converted it into an iPhone project and added some basic virtual controls. TouchArcade was able to take that and get it running an on iPhone 6 as you can see in the video below.

After years of ignoring the smartphone market, Nintendo finally announced that it will be bringing Mario and other classic game characters to the iPhone. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean it will be porting its classic games. Hopefully, the company sees this video and recognizes how much customers want those original games on their mobile devices.

You can play all classic games free on android right now

And you can get free emulators to get this experience jailbreak or not right now.

RetroArch does this and many more consoles.... Not just N64 but PS1,PS2,GBA,GB,GBC,DS... etc. Of course you will need their respective bios and roms/iso's.

Unity is cool. The fact he did that specifically for the iPhone 6 gives me hope that 64 games and other nintendo games will be ported using unity or whatever. Good stuff

So it probably would've helped if u had turned the mario music down just a bit to hear your voice better. Besides that it was an excellent video

Nice demo, although it was way too long. I know you enjoy watching yourself playing and playing the game but next time you make a demo, remember keep it short and keep it informative. Cheers
