Kerris made the announcement via Twitter earlier today:
"After 14 amazing years at Apple, it's time to move on and see what adventures life holds for me next! "
The news is notable considering Apple just named Steve Dowling its new Vice President of Communications, replacing Katie Cotton. Kerris had been at Apple for 14 years; whereas, Dowling joined Apple in 2003.
Here's how Kerris describes her experience at Apple, via LinkedIn:
With more than 25 years' experience as one of Silicon Valley's top PR professionals, Natalie Kerris has spent the past 14 years introducing Apple's most iconic products to the world, including the iPod, iTunes, iPhone, App Store, iPad, MacBook Air, and most recently Apple Pay and Apple Watch. Kerris worked directly with Apple's visionary executive team, including Steve Jobs, Tim Cook and Jony Ive, to reshape Apple's narrative from tech underdog to industry disrupter, through the meteoric rise of the iPhone to become the world's most valuable and profitable company.
Named to Business Insider's Top 50 PR people in 2012 and 2014, Kerris has built a reputation as an innovative team leader and creative problem solver who excels at building and leading global teams, providing executive counsel, managing worldwide product roll-outs, strategic partnerships and crisis communications.
Prior to Apple, Kerris spent more than a decade in high tech PR managing communications strategy and IPOs for pioneering new technology companies, including Intershop, Netscape, Claris and Frame Technology. Kerris holds a Bachelor or Arts degree in Communications from California State University, Chico and was honored as a Distinguished Alumna in 2015.
It's unclear if Kerris already has a new position lined up. She posted the Steve Jobs quote seen below to Twitter.
