The Typo keyboard accessory for iPhone, co-founded by Ryan Seacrest, will no longer be available for sale following a settlement with BlackBerry.
The original Typo keyboard was launched back in December of 2013. A month later, BlackBerry successfully sued the company for infringing on its 'iconic' keyboard design.
Seacrest then came out with the Typo 2 keyboard and BlackBerry sued again.
The two companies have now reached a settlement which involves the end of Typo sales for devices with a screen size of 7.9-inches and under.
--- BlackBerry Limited, a global leader in mobile communications, announced today that BlackBerry and Typo Products LLC, Typo Innovations LLC, Show Media LLC, Hallier Investments LLC, and Laurence Hallier have settled their outstanding legal disputes, including BlackBerry Limited v. Typo Products LLC et al. (Case No. 3:14-cv-00023-WHO) and BlackBerry Limited v. Typo Products LLC et al. (Case No. 3:15-cv-00715-WHO), both pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
As part of the settlement, Typo Products LLC, Typo Innovations LLC, Show Media LLC, Hallier Investments LLC, and Laurence Hallier have agreed to permanently discontinue selling anywhere in the world keyboards for smartphones and mobile devices with a screen size of less than 7.9 inches. Typo Products LLC, Typo Innovations LLC, Show Media LLC, Hallier Investments LLC, and Laurence Hallier may continue to sell keyboards for devices with a screen size of 7.9 inches or larger. Other terms of the settlement are confidential. ---
The financial terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

Seriously though. Why anyone would want that beats me. Makes no sense but yet I guess it's good to have options even if it's ugly and stupid and useless.

"Guys I have the best idea for invention ever!, you know how that iPhone doesn't even have a physical keyboard? Well let's add one! Surely no one's thought of that. I mean why use the virtual keyboard when I can make my device a 3rd larger without adding more screen space?" - Ryan Seacrest

So if we all rush to eb?y, we can load up on the devices and load the discontinued software on our phones thru JB tools.
Luckily for Ryan, the new iPad it larger than 7.9" (though I can't picture mounting a blackberry style keyboard on it). After all, blackberry lost their phone sales for a reason, their keyboards are a pain to use!

That's funny they are releasing a preorder keyboard for an iPhone 5 when the 6s is about to come out. To little to late
