Apple has reportedly approved the official Google Voice application and it will be available soon, according to TechCrunch.
Weve gotten word that the official Google Voice application is on its way to the iPhone in the next few weeks. In fact, weve heard from a source close to Google that its already been approved Google just needs to revamp the application to work with the iPhone 4 and iOSs multitasking capabilities. If youre a Google Voice user and youre on an iPhone, this is great news.
The FCC launched an investigation into the App Store policies after the much publicized rejection of Google Voice from the iPhone. Apple's representatives reportedly informed Google that the Google Voice application was rejected because Apple believed the application duplicated the core dialer functionality of the iPhone. Apple denied Google's allegations and said, "We do not agree with all of the statements made by Google in their FCC letter. Apple has not rejected the Google Voice application and we continue to discuss it with Google."

I'm not so thrilled about google's own gv app. Unlike Apple, they've never been into aesthetics that much, and honestly I'm a big fun of aesthetically appealing apps. Not only that, but their gv webapp is rather limited and difficult to use.
On the other hand, RiverTurn seems to know how things should work. Their VoiceCentral Black Swan web app for google voice is brilliant, and I'm eagerly waiting for a native version.

Sucks for all those folks that bought GV Mobile + for the steep steep price of $2.99. LOL!
