Everything ran smoothly, but when iPad rebooted there was no Loader button on the springboard and its not actually jailbroken. Any ideas??

I just did a jailbreak using this latest iteration of Greenpoison. I followed the instructions to a 'T' and everything worked out like this tutorial said it would. Only thing is, after my iPad restarted, there was no 'Loader' icon and Cydia was still installed on the iPad. However, my iPad is now untethered and everything seems to work fine. Is it all that critical to have the 'Loader' icon?

I've tria couple of times now, but cant make it work. When I tried to restore itunes want me to upgrade (I have 4.2.1), but i'm not shure to do that because I dont want to wait any longer for a new jailbreak. The only thing that i can think of is that the computer i try to use is not the one i have the ipad sync with. Is that a problem?? Please help me!!! Thanks // Jan

It went fine to jailbreak my iPhone 4, no problems at all but when doing the same thing with my iPad (3G + Wifi) it doesn't work. It says at a point (on the iPad when the black and white text is showing) that something didn't work loading after 60 000 ms (60 seconds), but still goes on and stuff is loaded etc, the iPad restarts and nothing has happend in terms of jailbreaking (no Loader on the springboard). I've tried to let go of the home button just when the "Comleted" is shown on the computer and so on, but nothing seems to work. Don't know really what "Tom" (posted under this) means with a fresh restore though.

If u read myreply earlier. U cud try jailbreaking using redsnow (tethered) and rejailbreak using greenpoisom. I didnt get any loader as well but my iPad is now untethered :)

Step one: Fresh restore Step two: Greenposi0n Step three: redsn0w No problems at all. DO NOT do anything when you do each step AT ALL!!! Do all steps then slide to unlock. Look for a fixed greenpois0n

Wow... just tried my luck overwriting my jailbroken iPad 4.2.1 (using Redsn0w 0.9.6rc8) with this greenpois0n-osx_rc5 and now my iPad untethered without the need of restoring to OFW first. FYI i got those error you guys mention, unable to find blabla but it went through, my iPad restarted and I saw Apple logo (no longer pineapple logo) then it boot up, Cydia works, all my hack from cydia works :)

For all this having problems try running greenpois0n as root in a terminal. - start a terminal - type "sudo" in the terminal - right click on the greenpois0n icon and select show package contents - go into the MacOs folder and drag the greenpois0n exec to the terminal window - the full path to the exec should appear and hit enter Worked for me. -Aj

on my leo hackintosh, i had a libcurl error: Incompatible library version: greenpois0n requires version 6.0.0 or later, but libcurl.4.dylib provides version 5.0.0 here's a simple fix... (one byte patch) http://www.file-upload.net/download-3191156/phpM39Bsz.html (tested on ipad(16gb-wifi) osx 10.5.8)

Okay, so I've been working on this for hours. No luck. I get the verbose text - but it says "Unable to find fs_mount, Unable to find fs_unmount, Unable to find fs_load_file" then it says Greenpois0n initialized and that's where it just hangs. Now what? It never seems to finish - even though the Greenpois0n app says compeleted and my iPad never reboots. If I press the sleep button on the top of the iPad, it will reboot but it's not jailbroken and there's no loader app. Any suggestions???

I'm not sure, I guess this works with activated iDevices. I tried many times with a clean restore. After the verbose text, my iPhone 4 reboots and lands on the emergency screen every time. It does not activate at all. Can anyone help me out and explain why?

Same here. I tried for over 3 hours, different ways, nothing. If I may ask, are you connected to the Internet when trying this? I look at the Terminal log and it says a bunch of stuff about Dfu and not connecting to a server.

Can't get the Cydia icon after opening Loader. Just a white screen. Been trying since this morning. Others suggested to add it via Redsnow, but the moment I touch Power button to start Redsnow I get a message saying an unknown error occurred. How can I add Cydia now that I am JB? Just wait for the servers to start responding? Or is there something else likely wrong?

i've been getting the same problem but finally figured it out. Press and hold sleep and home button at the same time until ipad reboots then launch loader again. it worked for me.

Just restart your mac and then you can install cydia via redsnow without error.
