The PhoneIt-iPad tweak that turns your iPad into a phone is now available for download. We reported about this amazing hack last month and its finally arrived.

To purchase the PhoneIt-iPad you will need to provide your serial number to iPhoneIslam for activation. This will cost $19.99 and includes free updates to the iOS 5 version of the tweak if they are successful in developing it.

Once you have activated your device you can add the http://apps.iphoneislam.com repository to Cydia and install PhoneIt-iPad.

Now that ipad 2 is jailbroken, does this work on ipad2?

Not yet ready for iPad2, even it's jailbroken with JailbreakMe 3.0. @iTarek from iPhoneIslam.com twits this: PhoneIt-iPad for iPad 2 will not be available soon. It will take some time to make it work on iPad 2. #PhoneItiPad #iPhoneIslam

The iPad serial number is 12 numbers. The iPad one 11. So if u go to buy this. U get an error

My iPad1 32GB WiFi+3G has been sold with high value, due to PhoneItiPad. Always works on iOS 4.3.3, jailbroken iPad. Phone, SMS, Facetime as well. Recommended.

I wouldn't trust the developers here. If it was anything like their FaceTime hack for 3Gs. That hack worked a few times, then stopped, and removal of the tweak had my phone go into endless reboot and then a total restore and rejailbreak. You've been warned, it could screw your whole setup.

All Whatsapp, Viber and Tango apps requires your WiFi or or 3G/edge/gprs Internet connection. PhoneItiPad only needs your SIM card. You can turn off all the Internet connection, and it will still works.

Make sure your iPad 3G is using iOS 4.3.3 and jailbroken. Go to iphoneislam.com/phoneitipad and activate your iPad by entering your billing information and your iPad serialno. Then go to Cydia, go to Sources, Edit, Add apps.iphoneislam.com then click Done. Go to changes, you should be able to Install PhoneIt-Ipad-433

May I ask ... how about WhatsApp, Viber, and Tango? Are they also being supported as well ?

Whatsapp, Viber and Tango are Appstore apps. You can install Whatsapp unofficially by changing the app into thinking that it is on the iPhone, instead of on the iPad. Viber and Tango are voip apps. This PhoneItiPad app is cydia app and make your iPad3G into a true phone, not voip phone. Using your SIM card to call and receive call, to send and receive sms, to call and receive facetime.

Mine is not AT&T, but one of Indonesian GSM mobile network operators. It should work, as long as you're using iOS 4.3.3 and jailbroken.

Yes, it works as advertised. Can call and receive calls. Can send and receive SMS (no MMS yet). One additional benefit: Facetime is activated too. I haven't tested Facetime yet.
