Apple Adds More 3D Cities to iOS 6 Maps

In the new iOS 6 beta 4 firmware just released to developers, Apple has added more 3D cities to its upcoming Maps application, reports 9to5Mac.

So far the following new cities have been found.


United States: Boston, Atlanta, Portland, Phoenix, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas.

Canada: Toronto.

Europe: Lyon, France; Birmingham, UK; Manchester, UK.

Previous iOS 6 releases included: Los Angeles, San Diego, Memphis, Denver, Copenhagen, Montreal, San Francisco and the Bay Area, Las Vegas, Sydney, Melbourne, Chicago, Miami, Seattle, and Sacramento.

I was wondering the same about London not being given the 3D treatment. Maybe in a later revision. I have to say though the cities so far look good in 3D :-)

When using the 3d map, is it just for looking around or do you use it while using gps directions or whatever it's called?
