Apple has announced that it will be holding a special event on September 12th at which it's expected to unveil the next generation iPhone, reports The Loop.

Apple on Tuesday sent out invites for an upcoming event happening in San Francisco on September 12, 2012. The invitation I received says the event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 10:00 am.

Well, looks like I was wrong about what it's going to be called. I still however, find it incredibly illogical to called a 6th Generation iPhone, the iPhone 5. Just saying.

Don't you think they're trying to make people think that they'll call it the 'iPhone 5'? Apple probably pays a group of fat kids 3 figures to read hyped up media sources like iGayified and make sure they know what we're talking about so that they keep us guessing and talking. That's why they're on top. It's not some get rich idea. IT'S MARKETING GENIUS!
