LG's shipments of 9.7-inch iPad display panels dropped 90% in January from 6 million units in December to 600,000, reports DigiTimes.

The sources said the drop is largely due to the growing popularity of the iPad mini as well as to increasing demand for low-priced tablets. Additionally, January is traditionally a slow period for panel shipments, added the observers. The 90% on-month drop was a major contributing factor to LG Display's overall performance in January, but the company is expected to see a rebound in its panel shipments for the 9.7-inch iPad during the second quarter due to an expected release of Apple's next-generation iPad in the third quarter, the sources noted.

LG is still estimated to be shipping 3.5-4 million panels for the iPad mini.

Although, the next generation iPad was widely expected in the fall, cases allegedly for the iPad 5 have begun surfacing online. This typically happens a few months before a new device is released.

This is because Franck shipment to northern Alaska. They do not have to be prepared for the next shipment of iPad 5, and need to do work with home button so Samsung as a factory is shipping out the world either one or two of them, because we all need screens in full HD and diagonal like LG is produced over the past years so we have good inside info!!!!
