Judge Mark Pierce in the Superior Court of the State of California in Santa Clara County has thrown out Proview Electronic's lawsuit against Apple over the iPad trademark in China.
On Friday, the Intermediate People's Court in Huizhou, a city in southern China's Guangdong province, ruled that distributors should stop selling iPads in China.
Chinese authorities have reportedly begun confiscating iPads from local retailers following the a verdict that Apple infringed on the iPad trademark owned by Proview in the country.
Apple is planning to unveil the biggest ever revamp for iPad Pro, a refreshed iPad Air, a bigger iPad Air, and new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models in March.
The Shanghai Pudong New Area People's Court has denied Proview's request for an injunction to stop iPad sales and suspended the case pending a ruling from the High Court.
Samsung will reportedly be the exclusive supplier of the first batch of OLED panels for the next generation 11-inch iPad Pro, while LG will supply panels for the 13-inch model.
