Apple is seeking a Wi-Fi (802.11) System Test Engineer with technical knowledge of 802.11ac, according to a company job posting.

System Test Engineering is looking for an experienced test engineer with excellent problem solving and communications skills. In this role, you will be testing, automating, leading, and working closely with the entire cross-functional team to ensure quality for Macintosh products.

Apple has yet to release any products with 802.11ac Wi-Fi network support; however it was recently reported that Apple has struck a deal with chip maker Broadcom to outfit its new Macs with 802.11ac chips.

At CES 2013 numerous manufacturers have unveiled routers that support the wireless specification that offers about three times the speed of 802.11n. Hopefully, we'll also see an update to the AirPort Extreme and TimeCapsule in the near future.
