Pfizer has told its employees to switch to iPhone or Android from BlackBerry when their contract expires, reports Bloomberg.

Concerned that BlackBerry may not be around in the future, the company sent a memo to its employees asking them to switch devices.

“In response to declining sales, the company is in a volatile state,” New York-based Pfizer told employees in a memo obtained by Bloomberg News. “We recommend that BlackBerry clients use their BlackBerry devices and plan to migrate to a new device at normal contract expiration.”

Pfizer has around 92,000 employees; however, it's unclear how many are using BlackBerry devices. The company has developed a contingency plan in case BlackBerry shuts down or is unable to provide service, according to the memo.

BlackBerry recently announced that it was abandoning plans to sell to the company to Fairfax Financial Holdings and has instead replaced CEO Thorsten Heins and raised a $1 billion investment from Fairfax and other investors.
