iPhone 6 Will Reportedly Feature Faster 150Mbps LTE-Advanced Modem

The latest iPhone 6 rumor is that the device will not feature a 300Mbps LTE-Advanced Category 6 modem as many anticipated. Instead, the device will reportedly feature a Qualcomm's MDM9625 LTE-Advanced modem capable of speeds up to 150Mbps.

Apple currently uses a similar Qualcomm MDM9615 LTE modem in the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5, which is capable of 100Mbps. This new modem would bring support for 150Mbps LTE-Advanced, as well as a more durable chip that is manufactured using a 28nm process.

LTE-Advanced is slowly rolling out in the US, with some carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile rolling out the standard.

This same report comes from the same site that originally claimed the iPhone 6 only has 1GB of ram. However, the site originally referenced a schematic that did not show the RAM configuration, but instead NAND flash (used for firmware, etc).

Nevertheless, we'll have to wait until the reported September 9 announcement to know for sure!
