Schematics Reveal New iPhone M7 Coprocessor Codenamed 'Phosphorus'?

The iPhone 6 will come with a new coprocessor codenamed 'Phosphorus', according to schematics leaked by GeekBar via GforGames.

Allegedly, the chip will have the same responsibilities as the M7 CPU, but given the wider functionality of the new HealthKit, it will also be responsible for collecting and processing new types of health-related data, including the heart rate, the amount of calories burned, cholesterol levels, blood sugar and more. In the Health app, the aforementioned data can be added either manually, or can be automatically collected from various accessories and wearables (and this is were this new coprocessor will probably come into play).

In collecting health data, Apple may face privacy and regulatory challenges.Reportedly, Apple wants to ensure that providers, not itself, are responsible for adhering to privacy requirements. More details on that here.

As you likely know, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 6 on September 9th. As we approach the date, it's likely that we will see even more leaks. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.
