Consumer Reports is Designing an 'Authoritative Test' to Check the iPhones 6 for Bending Problems

Consumer Reports says it's designing an authoritative test to find out whether Apple's new phones have structural issues.

After numerous reports surfaced online of iPhone 6 devices that had bent in the pockets of users, videos surfaced that showed it was quite easy to bend the device.

Apple has since responded saying that this is not a valid problem and only 9 users have complained about the bending issues in 6 days.

Well as luck would have it, Consumer Reports has exactly the right equipment to test this sort of thing, and we've used it to test the flexibility of phones before. We want to do a scientifically valid test of the structural strength of the new iPhones as well as that of comparable phones, and we'll have results soon. So stay tuned.

We'll let you know as soon as their 'authoritative test' is live. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.
