New renders allegedly of the iPhone 6s have surfaced online confirming rumors that the device will have a slightly thicker body.

Sourced by @OnLeaks, AKA Steve Hemmerstoffer of Nowwhereelse.fr, on behalf of uSwitch, the images are so-called 'CAD design renders' which are sent by Apple to third-party case manufacturers ahead of the release of new phones. The accessory-makers can then use the designs to manufacture cases that are compatible.

The iPhone 6s is said to come in at 7.1mm thick. Just 0.2mm thicker than the iPhone 6. Likewise, the new iPhone 6s Plus is said to have gone from 7.1mm thick to 7.3mm.

The change in thickness could be necessary to accommodate the new Force Touch display or it could be to strengthen the body to prevent bending.

Notably, the renders for the iPhone 6s don't show a protruding camera while the iPhone 6s Plus renders do. It's unclear if the renders just aren't complete or whether Apple has found a way to make the camera more compact.
