The FBI has found nothing of real significance on the hacked iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino shooters, so far, reports CBS News.

The phone was unlocked by an unnamed third party last month (possibly Cellebrite) after being at the center of a battle between Apple and FBI.

It was stressed that the FBI continues to analyze the information on the cellphone seized in the investigation, senior investigative producer Pat Milton reports.

The FBI claimed the iPhone could contain information on the plans or contacts of the attackers who killed 14 people on December 2nd, 2015. In order to gain access to the phone, the FBI asked the court to force Apple to build a backdoor into the smartphone which would have set a precedence for future cases and compromised the security of millions of devices.

After successfully hacking the device, the FBI withdrew its case. However, the larger issue remains and it's likely we'll see Apple back in court to battle over the matter some time soon.
