Apple is expected to unveil its tablet computer next week and as usual will need a few companies to help showcase its capabilities.

Peter Kafka from MediaMemo has a few ideas as to who might be involved in the presentation.

- The New York Times: Executive Editor Bill Keller's passing reference to an “impending Apple slate” in October drew much media attention and Apple has already used the New York Times to demonstrate past product releases. Its thought that the paper may be preparing to launch a new digital format which could debut at the event.

- NOT The Music Labels: Kafka has learned that Apple only recently begun briefing labels about the tablet, primarily as a “courtesy.” The labels are already on board with the “iTunes LP” format which will transition easily to the tablet.

- Enhanced E-Books Publishers: The Wall Street Journal is reporting that HarperCollins is negotiating to bring some of its titles to the tablet. Enhanced e-books will also be important factor in the competition with Amazon as well as in the field of education.

- Video (Disney): Considering Jobs position as Disney's largest individual shareholder and board member its likely that the company would be first to bring some of its programming and games to the tablet.

Apple has announced the "Come see our latest creation" special event for January 27th. It will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10AM Pacific Time.
