Adaptive Transparency for Original AirPods Pro and AirPods Max is a Bug [Gurman]

The ability to enable Adaptive Transparency mode for first generation AirPods Pro and AirPods Max is a bug, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Last week, users discovered the ability to toggle on Adaptive Transparency for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max when running iOS 16.1 beta 3 and beta AirPods firmware. Adaptive Transparency reduces the intensity of loud noises like sirens or power tools while you are in Transparency mode. Apple originally touted this as an H2 feature and it appears set to stay that way.

In a post on Twitter, Gurman says, "I’m told this is a bug". Unfortunately, that means you'll have to purchase new AirPods Pro 2 to enjoy the feature.
