The third beta of iOS 16.1 released to developers and testers this week, brings an Adaptive Transparency mode toggle to Apple's first generation AirPods Pro. You also need to be running AirPods beta firmware v5A304a.
Reddit user @ddpacino spotted the toggle in Settings > AirPods Pro.
Adaptive Transparency reduces the intensity of loud noises like sirens or power tools while you are in Transparency mode. Apple originally touted this as an H2 feature; however, it appears that the company may be working to bring the new mode to more devices.
If you want to enjoy the feature now, Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) are on sale for $239.98 today, down from $249.
