A man looking to get his iPhone battery replaced at a Chinese electronics store decided to bite the battery to somehow test its authenticity. The battery promptly exploded.
Video of the incident captured by a CCTV camera has been posted on miaopai.com and viewed over four million times, reports Taiwan News. It's likely that the man's teeth ruptured the battery's casing causing it to burst into a massive ball of fire.
Amazingly, no one was hurt in this incident. Take a look at the video below!
It's unclear if the customer was looking to exchange his battery due to Apple's slowdown of devices with degraded batteries. We recommend taking your iPhone to Apple to have an authorized technician replace its battery for $29. If you can't have Apple perform the replacement for whatever reason (timing, jailbreak, location, etc), you can find links to purchase replacement batteries below. Please don't bite them!

battery does not blow up if its not connected to any power source. else people will be using battery instead of grenades.

It will explode. It’s full of electricity because it’s a battery.

The battery might explode even if there's no wire connection. It happend to me when i changed my iphone 6 battery. It sparked a couple time when i pulled the battery from the tray. I was unlucky that week. A few days later apple offered new battery change for $29. 😂 For$29, i would rather let apple tech guy to do it. 🙄

Lithium reacts very rapidly when exposed to moisture, like saliva or water. This is why you never puncture lithium battery packs.
