Apple has dropped its 10% restocking fee for customers looking to return the iPhone 4.
The announcement came via a press release this morning. Apple stated that if you are not fully satisfied, you can return your undamaged iPhone to any Apple Retail Store or the online Apple Store within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.
ComputerWorld was able to confirm this with an AppleCare Support Representative.
Apple may have done this in part to quell lawsuits brewing against the company. For example, in a lawsuit filed Wednesday Kevin McCaffrey and Linda Wrinn accuse Apple of knowingly selling a defective product, adding that they "are unable to return the phone without incurring a substantial restocking fee."
what about if the phone was bought from a retailer, like Best Buy. you would return to that store correct, and any restocking fees they impose would still be valid?
the only problem is that i wend from Verizon to att and att going to take my activation fee plus now if i go back to Verizon i will have to sign a contract and pay activation fee so what good is this im stuck with att ....
go back to Verizon, you wont have to pay another activation fee because you came back in 90 days
return your ATT iphone and wait for the Verizon iPhone in January
What a strange, strange issue.
I have noticed the holding attenuation change but do not personally regard it as a problem. In fact, imho, the newest iphone of the family has fewer real-dysfunction issues and is more functional, practically speaking, out-of-the-box with better aesthetics than prior models. I could only reproduce the antenna effect only few occasions but that may be fully dependent on where i live. Anywho, everyone in the family with the new iphone has purchased a case ( no one wanted bumpers) and was going to do so from the moment the phone was taken out of the box. Yet, i had never had a utilized a case with the other 3 prior models for me personally, but everyone else in the family has-- therefore, i can empathize with anyone who insists on going neked with their new iphone 4. Personally, i don't trust myself not to ever drop this new phone and not break something.
Cases are cheap. Bumpers probably not. It's all relative. To each their own. Glad at least Apple has provided a way out for those that dissatisfied with the iphone 4. It's always a little bit more reassuring to have the option.
yeah, no kidding. Someone's loss is your gain. Refurb phones will probably show up on Apple store online first but probably not until they get a significant number of units returned and probably not until Apple screen out the units for any actual defects. They may not even release any refurb units until the next software update.
This will never happen. You'll never find ANY apple product refurbished being sold by apple. Where do you think all old Mac computers suddenly disappear when new line comes out. I think they simply destroy it or reuse for parts only
