Canary is a new smart home security system that looks to become an affordable option for almost anyone that has a smartphone. Canary is a single unit that is placed in your house that contains various sensors, cameras and more to track every motion, temperature and air quality change to keep you safe.

Canary is a single device that contains an HD video camera and multiple sensors that track everything from motion, temperature and air quality to vibration, sound, and activity to help keep you, your family and your home safe.

Controlled entirely from your iPhone or Android device, Canary alerts you when it senses anything out of the ordinary — from sudden temperature changes that can indicate a fire, to the sound and movement that could mean an intrusion. Instantly receive, view and act on the alerts wherever you are. Over time, Canary learns your home’s rhythms to send you smarter alerts. Canary is the smartest way to stay secure.

Canary packs a HD camera, WiFi, microphone, siren, speaker, passive infrared motion detector, temperature, humidity and air sensor and much more. The device becomes smarter the longer you have it, so it will become better when detecting an intruder versus you coming home from work.

To use Canary, you simply purchase the unit for $199 (retail pricing) and plug it in. There are no monthly fees. Multiple units are recommended for larger homes, so Canary might be best suited for those renting or living in smaller homes.

Don't know about other countries but in Denmark it is okay to call the police if you can see by camera, that there are a burglary going on. But without a camera they will not respond to an alarm.
