Apple has launched an iPhone upgrade event at its U.S. retail stores with increased trade-in values and heavy promotional efforts, reports 9to5Mac.
Specifically, Apple has sent out a memo to Apple Store staff instructing them to push upgrades to iPhone 4 and 4s users with increased trade-in values. The company has also started contacting customers by email and promoting the event with new signage in its retail stores.
The new signage reads:
"It’s a beautiful time for an upgrade. You may be eligible for upgrade pricing on a new iPhone. And if you bring in your old iPhone to be recycled, you could get credit toward a new one. Ask us for details."
Employees have been told to check customer's eligibility, inform them about the iPhone Reuse and Recycling program, and push recently increased trade-in values for iPhone 4s and iPhone 4. Apple will offer up to $199 for an iPhone 4S and up to $99 for an iPhone 4. Depending on the device, a customer could upgrade to the iPhone 5S for $0.
All three 5S's I received from telcos recently have been running 7.04 but I'm guessing apple probably has 7.1 stock somewhere in the pipe.
Wish it was a bring your old 4 & get a tasty 6!
A7 is amazing, can't wait for A8, A9, A10.
Is A8 Apple TV console iOS gaming a given?
Watch out Sony/MS!
They can do better than sony. They have been the same sine ps2, as for microjunk oh god if apple can beat the worst os of all time, there is a high chance they can win for the iOS gaming. I hope they can do something wii u did.
I recently bought an iPhone 5s and it came with the iOS 6.03 on it which allowed me to jailbreak, so you may end up with a phone just like me and able to still jailbreak.
