In a back stage interview with ABC News' David Muir, Apple CEO Tim Cook discussed the newly announced Apple Watch, iPhone 6, Apple Pay, security, and 'Made in America'.

Cook noted that the parts, equipment and material from the Apple Watch and the iPhone 6 / 6 Plus will be made in 22 out of the 50 United States.

Apple has been criticized for outsourcing its production of its products to China, but has recently started manufacturing more and more in America with products like the Mac Pro.

The full interview featuring Tim Cook and Jony Ive has not been posted yet, but we'll ket you know when it hits the web. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, or RSS for updates.

Nice try. Some parts will be made here but then they're all shipped off to China to be assembled and sent back.

Keep attempting to believe that. Some part will be shipped almost anywhere and be made there plain and simple.
I AM NOT CHINESE MADE - September 10, 2014 at 8:44am
it's about f-ing time. I'm tired of seeing made in China...although I'm always diligent to avoid Chinese made products even though they are American companies it is really hard not to buy those stuff out of necessity. most of the time is it made in China it goes back on the shelves. I hope I'm still alive when the day comes when all I see in the store shelves are 100% American Made.

And then you'll pay four times as much for the same product as you pay now. Companies don't say, "let's make our products in America now, and have the extra costs come out of our profits." $350 as the baseline price for this watch? And that's going to be the "low-end" model. How much do you think those gold ones are going to cost? But hey, it's made in America. And as a former Apple employee, Apple hires Temp agencies. These people work for 51 weeks and they are laid off for six months so these companies can avoid paying benefits. I worked at Apple for years, and we saw the same rotation of people year after year. They were resentful and bitter people. And they're now making our Apple products at a much higher rate

Much better every 6 months than no job at all... it is not Apples fault, talk with the government why they allow that. If there were laws against it, that wouldn't happen.
