Scott Forstall, former iOS Senior Vice President, has publicly spoken about Apple for the first time since his departure.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Forstall said he was "so proud of the thousands of people I worked with [at Apple] and with whom I remain friends. I am delighted that they continue to turn out great and beloved products.”

Since Forstall and Apple split, the former SVP has been traveling, advising startups, and doing philanthropical work. Forstall also emerged last month as a broadway musical producer, where he is co-producing the musical Fun Home.

Forstall maintained a close relationship with Steve Jobs working as SVP of iOS; however, he was forced out in October 2012 once Tim Cook became CEO. It's believed that Forstall was fired due to failures with Siri and Maps, as well as has inability to get along with Jony Ive.

Since Forstall's departure, Apple has launched complete redesigns of both iOS and Mac OS X with tons of new features. Jony Ive now plays a role in human interface design across the company, while Craig Federighi is Apple's lead SVP for both Mac OS X and iOS software.
