Kanye West, one of the most prevalent hip-hop artists of the 21st century, has tweeted that his album will "never never never" be on Apple Music and will never be for sale. Kanye released his album The Life of Pablo late Saturday night exclusively on Tidal -- the music streaming service that was recently relaunched under Jay-Z.

Tidal quickly became the number one free app on Apple's iOS App Store after the album's release. Fans were under the impression that the album would remain a Tidal exclusive for a week or two, but that is not the case according to Kanye.

Kanye also says he will be releasing tons of new songs every Friday -- exclusively on Tidal.

Prior to Apple Music's launch, Kanye was rumored to release his upcoming album alongside Apple Music. Kanye is still well-connected with Apple Music's Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, and he was even spotted wearing a rare Gold Apple Watch link bracelet.

It's hard to believe Kanye's label will let him keep The Life of Pablo off Apple Music permanently, but this surely heats up the exclusive content battle between music streaming services. Apple's efforts to attract users to Apple Music through exclusive content seems to be working. The company recently revealed it had over 11 million paying subscribers on its 6-month old music streaming service, likely fueled by exclusive content from artists including Drake, Taylor Swift, and Future.
