Bill Gates Says His 'Greatest Mistake Ever' Was Losing Mobile to Android [Video]

In a recent interview with Village Global, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates revealed that his 'greatest mistake ever' was losing the mobile operating system market to Google and Android.

"In the software world, particularly for platforms, these are winner-take-all markets. So the greatest mistake ever is whatever mismanagement I engaged in that caused Microsoft not to be what Android is. That is, Android is the standard non-Apple phone platform. That was a natural thing for Microsoft to win. It really is winner take all. If you’re there with half as many apps or 90 percent as many apps, you’re on your way to complete doom. There’s room for exactly one non-Apple operating system and what’s that worth? $400 billion that would be transferred from company G to company M."

I don't blame him considering the absurd excuses that modern Microsoft churned out that ended playing themselves when they made a big deal about stuff no one would be desperate to argue about. What I'm talking about is when they made "ads" that were nothing more than sell outs about the so-called advantages they thought the Nokia had over iPhone, like when they insulted Siri and underestimate how much she does especially from what charts say about her in comparison to cortana, or offend iPhone by not having any color (no I'm not joking). The list goes on, but long story short this is how the Nokia died and this era of excuses was years after Gates stepped down. On a side note, I miss the times when we used to see him and Jobs being friends. What happened to that?
