These are instructions on how to block and disable Edge and 3G data usage on your iPhone using the SBSettings Data toggle.
Anderson Vulczak and BigBoss constructed the toggle which sets a bogus IP address, (1.1.1.0) to your data adapter’s IP address. This seems to kill EDGE / 3G without any battery drain issues reported in using other methods such as entering a bad APN.
You may want to do this to ensure your iPhone does not rack up costly data usage chargers from your carrier.
Step One Press to launch Cydia from your iPhone Springboard.
Step Two Select Sections from the tabs at the bottom of the screen.
Step Three Select SBSettings Addons from the list of Sections
Step Four Choose Data Toggle from the list of Packages.
Step Five Press the Install button at the top right of the screen.
Step Six Press the Confirm button to begin installation.
Step Seven Once installation has completed successfully press the large Restart Springboard button.
Step Eight Swipe your finger across the status bar to pull up the SBSettings menu.
Step Nine Press the Data toggle to deactivate data.
You will notice the icon goes red and your IP Address changes to 1.1.1.0.
Edge and 3G data access on your device is now blocked.

whether this setting saves the battery? I never got GPRS connection. But "E" is popped up on my iphone 3gs (3.0.1). Please tell me about this setting.
I tried to install this sbsetting addon, but when I select it for download it says I need to remove sbsettings and sbsettingstoggles before I can install this.
So I uninstall those two items, reboot the iphone, try to install the data toggle sbsetting addon, and I am told it needs sbsettings >=2.99 (i had the lastest version 3.11 installed)
I am using a factory unlocked iphone, jailbroke with firmware 3.1.3.
any ideas why I cant install this?
Why would I want to disable the data? Is this for those using a goPhone sim who want to keep their data from "leaking out?" in that case, i assume this process is REVERSIBLE?
how can i delete this data toggle? because my wi-fi is not working as old. i need to make off-on and refresh. after than wi-fi is working. so i dont wanna make it every time. pls help guys.
there is a far better way then this to block your data plan by going to thru iphone's safari browser www.iphonenodata.com and when it opens click on DISABLE 3G key.
thats it your EDGE 3G are disabled ... permanent block else u can uninstall if u have brokered a good data plan and continue... with this block wifi can be used still

I installed this, but still my battery drains soon. and "E" is appeared still on my phone.
I change the sim still it appear. please advice me how to prevent the battery drain.
I am confused. I want to block 3G only and definitely, I mean without pushing by error the button to activate it, not EDGE. I am on T-Mobile USA with NO data plan. Will the solution you provide do it?
