O2 has posted a notice on their website saying that both the 8GB and 16GB iPhones are no longer available in the UK. This confirms prior reports that the 8GB iPhone had reached its end of life with O2.
iPhone stock in the US has also dropped dramatically however, the Apple Store is listing 24 hour shipping for the iPhone in the UK.
It is widely expected that the stock shortages are in preparation for the announcement of the 3G iPhone next month.
