The makers of iControlPad have posted a few pics of the real product for those eagerly waiting.
iControlPad is meant to realise the full potential of the iPhone by adding real controls. Your iPhone just slides in and locks in to place via the serial port, there are no modifications needed and you can remove it at any time.
You guys are really going to enjoy playing games with this thing, it is like night to day in terms of how much better it is with real controls.
It's worth noting that the Dpad is going to be moved down a little on the final product.

I started working on serial connection commuication to the iPhone several months back
using a Chatboard from a Sony Ericsson mobile. Sadly I never had the time to work on its
sat in my desk ever since. The iControlPad is beyond anything I had thought of. For me I
just wanted to create a way for people to use original controllers such as the NES control
pad to play the emulated games on the iPhone.
It's great to see people expanding that idea into something as wonderful as the iControlPad. I know this project is going to be a huge success and will revolutionize the
iPhone in terms of use as a Gaming Platform.
Congrats to everyone working on the iControlPad!
