Chpwn and Ryan Petrich have announced Spire, a new tool for installing Siri on previously unsupported but jailbroken devices.
Spire is my (along with Ryan Petrich) new tool for installing Siri on previously unsupported, but jailbroken, devices. Spire is a small download, but while installing it will download Siri itself (directly from Apple). Spire is available in Cydia right now - go get it! This will use about 100 MB of data, so please connect to Wi-Fi before installing.
Apple still requires authorization information for Siri so you'll need info from an iPhone 4S. To insert this information, Spire lets you enter your own proxy server.
By using this (ancient) SiriProxy fork, you can setup a proxy using your own iPhone 4S to insert the needed information reasonably easily. Other solutions for proxying Siri will be listed here as they are developed - perhaps that sort of proxy might be included in the main SiriProxy repository.
Spire does not have the copyright issues that previous attempts to port Siri have had. Also rather than directing traffic through a specific proxy server, Spire lets you specify your own proxy server.
We'll be posting more information and instructions on how to set this up shortly.
I really know a professional team who are specialized on article marketing. I don't know a lot about that but I think, they provide link building packages or seo company. My friends said it was workable!
someone care to help me out?? so I set up my siri proxy following an awesome video. though I didn't have the iPhone 4s. My buddy gave me his UDID as I heard I could use that to do everything I needed. Well where do I put his UDID? can I enter it into the CA.perm file??
I plan on jbing my iPhone4 to 5.0.1(shortly) and then trying this.
I then plan on setting up the siri proxy on my home network: https://github.com/plamoni/SiriProxy
I am wanting to write plugins for the siri proxy, and dont care about full blown Siri. (I dont need it to hit apple siri servers or the internet)
-So first question, will Siri proxy (and plugins) work without getting a UDID from an iPhone4s?
-Second question, if I do acquire a UDID from an iPhone 4s, what do I do with it?
I saw reports to add it into UDID faker? or is there a config file in the Siri proxy you add it to?
Thanks!
damn, installed and it shows up on the settings. i put in a siriproxy i found online (just to try) and i held down the home button, only voice control appeared
I installed this on 5.0.1 and when i first booted there was no network connectivity so i removed the sim and installed it back in and it works but later that night i installed Corona (Untether tethered jailbreak) and i lost the connectivity and when i rebooted i got the splash screen asking to Activate my phone and i couldnt so had to restore the whole thing :( i hope there is a fix for this because i was about to fix up my own SiriProxy at home but phone got messed up :(
I own a iPhone 4S, and a iPhone 4 (Wife's) Has anyone got this proxy thing to work? Its so vague, I read through all the links and postings and I cannot figure out how to start. Any clear direction would be greatly appreciated.
And what about the untethered Jailbreak??? Instead of this, why should a stupid siri cydia tweak to be made? C'mon dev team! Now that you got the codes from pod2g, you should release the Jailbreak soon! Without untethered, this tweak is difficult to install.
I am seeing the Spire in settings now. I think the issue is related to mobile substrate issue.
This is what I did:
- jb again using redsnow b3 version
- reinstall mobile substrate and respring
I uninstalled H1Siri just fine then added this. I was reading via Cydia to set up your own proxy a d it seems hard. I'll wait for updates on this though.
Ummm prolly because they have other stuff to post and also they have to get it going and take screenshot of all the steps, and type up instructions for each steps.
