The MediaShare application for iPhone has been approved by Apple after initially being rejected.

What is MediaShare?
Most modern mobile phones allow you to transfer your media (videos/pictures etc) to other phones over Bluetooth. While the iPhone has Bluetooth, it doesn’t support file transfers. This is a shame because the iPhone is arguably the best media player on the market, it’s high resolution widescreen aspect ratio leaves other phones in the dust. But you still can’t share that funny video clip with your buddies…

That’s where MediaShare comes in. MediaShare lets you transfer your favorite clips onto your device over Wi-Fi and then share them at super-high wi-fi speeds with friends on the same network. MediaShare uses the same file-sharing protocol in TextGuru making it completely compatible with our Mac and Windows FileServer apps (download for free here).

MediaShare currently supports the following formats (with more to come):

* M4V, MOV, MP4, MPV and 3GP video files
* PNG, TIFF, TGA and JPG picture files

The $0.99 promo is planned to run for the next 7 days, after which the price will be raised back to the original $2.99. Get it now before its too late!

This is great that you can share media from one iPhone to another. But can you share media to another device like a PS3?

It does support A2DP, someone just needs to make a program that can use the Bluetooth to share files,,through jailbreaking obviously.

This kind of apps will only be usefull if we could conect directly with another wi-fi device instead of a wi-fi network! When we are "on-the-go" and we meet a friend where am i gonna find a wi-fi network?? Also... we have to duplicate our library!! we should be able to select a pic/video from our library instead of adding files to the app.
