New Apple TV User Interface Was Thrown Out By Steve Jobs Five Years Ago

Michael Margolis, a former Apple developer who worked on the Apple TV, says the new user interface was thrown out by Steve Jobs five years ago.

"I implemented much of the AppleTV 2.0 UI years ago. The new home page UI makes me cry."

"Fun fact - those new designs were tossed out 5 years ago because SJ didn't like them. Now there is nobody to say "no" to bad design."

Hmmm... interesting. Michael, can you please post the screenshots or drawings from your original design from "years ago"? Although I have no doubt that you foresaw iOS 5, as a skeptic with a passion for evidence, I would love to compare the data myself... as perhaps would other readers. Thanks!!

Personally I don't like the new Interface. It looks bloated.

Steve jobs had all sorts of changes of heart over the years. The apple tv interface needs to be the same as the iPhone/iPad interfaces

Hows this the same as the iPad/iPhone? His right, a rainbow spewed... I prefer the old UI. Old UI + 1080p would make my day.

Apple tv does use iOS, but a special build of it, I think.

Looks like apple is beginning a long drawn out slow painful death... SJ why did you not seek treatment(professional) early on in your diagnosis :-/

Lots of people are successfully treated for cancer - but on big factor in that is treating it quickly. Steve Jobs didn't get his treated quickly.

Exactly... He didn't seek professional treatment early on... Because of this his condition accelerated :-/ And we all know the out come of that
