Major Police Scanner Update

Juicy Development pushed an additional 400 plus new streams to their iPhone application Police Scanner, a useful tool for locating and listening in on EMS dispatch frequencies throughout the country. Now with over 800 EMS operations in the application listeners can find active streams almost anywhere. Police scanner is a must have for on-call volunteer fire fighters, news crews, emergency responders and hobbyist.

Police Scanner allows listeners to listen in (but not broadcast) on police, fire, and EMS activities across the country. Juicy Development CEO Tod Hadley said, "We have received such an overwhelming response to our initial release. We tried an early release as a "proof of concept" and it turned out to be a best seller." As of this release Police Scanner is ranked 65 in the top 100 paid applications in the itunes Store.

New streams are being added daily as Juicy receives hundreds of requests for additional streams each day. Project manager David Kyle says "Our people are working hard to keep up. We had to hire additional staff just to stay on top of the email. Every employee is currently working to help with the backlog and adding streams and every email will receive a personal response." Anyone who discovers a compatible stream can simply email the company or send a message through the company web page. New stream will usually be added within a few days. "If you send in a request saying add Detroit, we will get to it; if you go find a stream in Detroit and send us a link, we usually add those within a few hours." said Kyle.

As additional stations, counties, and cities are added, the database is automatically updated and the stream instantly becomes available to all Police Scanner users. All future updates will be free and now is a great time to purchase.

Police Scanner uses the location-aware technology built into the iPhone to help users locate streams near them, or allows them to search through a list of all available streams from across the country. A few international streams have been added and the international directory is expected to grow.

The database is currently undergoing a rebuild because the stream list has become so large. Over the next few days updates to the stream list will sort by state. This has been the most requested feature request from users according to Hadley.

Want to know the location of all the speed traps? Want to find out what is really happening beyond that police line or get the inside scoop on the search for that missing kid? Then Police Scanner is for you. Listen in and find out every time your friends get pulled over for speeding.

Not all areas broadcast an iPhone compatible stream. This is still a new technology for many police, fire, and dispatch centers. A stream from your local city may not yet be available.

Pricing and Availability:
Police Scanner is available now in the Apple iTunes store for the introductory price of only $1.99 (USD) and works on the iPhone or iPod touch. The introductory price is expected to end this weekend so don't wait. Requires 2.0 software update and a network connection.
