The Apple iPad Air has won the award for the best mobile tablet at the 19th Annual Global Mobile awards, held at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Best Smartphone award was won by the HTC One.
Best Mobile Tablet: Apple iPad Air Precision-engineered to weigh just one pound, iPad Air is 20 percent thinner and 28 percent lighter than the fourth generation iPad, and with a 43 percent narrower bezel the borders of iPad Air are dramatically thinner. iPad Air’s Retina display makes web pages, text, images and video look incredibly sharp and realistic, and the new power-efficient A7 chip allows the battery to be even smaller, helping reduce the overall volume by 24 percent from the previous generation while doubling its performance and maintaining its up to 10-hour battery life.
Judges’comments: The iPad Air packs class-leading performance in an attractive and svelte frame, while its ecosystem has an undisputed advantage in the number of format-optimized apps
Best Smartphone: HTC One The HTC One redefines the smartphone experience, packing in a host of already acclaimed features. HTC BlinkFeed provides you with the latest news and social content direct to your home screen, a photo gallery that comes to life through HTC Zoe technology, and dual frontal stereo speakers. Its sophisticated design and precision detailing sets it apart from the rest of the smartphones available today. The HTC One combines stunning award-winning design with beautiful, intuitive and simple-to-use software. The processor is powerful, the screen is sharp and the speakers loud, crisp, and clear, thanks to HTC BoomSound. Complemented by an innovative UltraPixel camera that defies megapixel mythology, the HTC One was assuredly the best smartphone of 2013.
Judges’comments: The HTC One remained one of the most advanced smartphones throughout 2013. Its great design and excellent user interface continue to provide a differentiated user experience, standing out from the competition
Well, HTC is not so desperate with those ads others mock apple with, but if that's possible, then they would need 4 models, two with different designs by each and the other two with different os'. But Idk because jobs liked sony, so... this idea might work.
Personally I prefer my iPhone 5 and/or 5S over the HTC One M7, while HtC does have every right to winning it's award and I myself very much enjoyed using mine for roughly 6 months, apple still takes the cake in my opinion. But hey, at least the best smartphone award went to a worthy company. I know many expected samsung to take it, but the fact that samsung mobile phones today come overloaded with so much useless bloat ware and very poor build quality and showing next to no talent in the design area, samsung is far behind if they even fathomed winning any kind of award.
Well said. All I did to evolve was spy on apple because I was just like any other old school phone, and that's the only kind I can make on my own. No iPhones mean no galaxy but the least I can get in the end are certain amount of users on my os, but anyway, no matter how long zi go it's my endless cycle, I someday will understand myself on what it's like...
I still like my 5s like you but that's more of smartphones are good enough now. The mid level ones. I am actually quite fine with evolution of phones as long as the price is the same or lower. Maybe the bigger screen iPhone will be just enough for awhile. More screen real estate and more room for the abysmal battery life.
I hope apple concentrates more on Wearables devices and not try to get into a spec war.
I like my ipad than other tablet just because app compatibility. But annoyance of not able to watch flash on safari really kills it. (eg. Twitch archive video)
Flash enabled browser - February 27, 2014 at 9:10pm
Ankos, download Puffin browser from the App Store and your problem will be solved. Trust me, I have tried different browser that claim that their browser can support flash but in reality, Puffin is the true flash enabled browser for iOS devices.
True but what other way is to get unlimited flash be sides cydia or browsers. Why can't flash player be an app to automatically support safari like that?
