roobasoft Releases rooSwitch 1.5

roobasoft has announced rooSwitch 1.5, a significant update to their award winning profile manager for Mac OS X. With a focus on ease-of-use, rooSwitch can create and manage multiple profiles of any application's data, allowing an unlimited number of profiles for virtually any OS X application, on an individual basis. It's like a multi-user environment for just one application. Drop any app on rooSwitch and let it manage multiple versions of that applications preferences, settings and data files, and easily switch between them.

Particularly suited for developers, beta testers and support organizations alike, rooSwitch was originally developed to help test a new user experience and/or verify different canned scenarios, making it an excellent solution for quality testing software without losing preferences and application data. Profiles include preferences, caches, and the application data and are stored in a single .rooSwitch bundle, making it easy to backup application profiles and transfer them between machines or accounts.

However rooSwitch can be used in many scenarios beyond testing, including multiple iTunes, or iPhoto libraries, as well as creating differing settings for the Dock (convenient for built-in switching), and more. The uses and immediate benefit for rooSwitch are only limited by the users imagination.

Version 1.5 features an array of new changes, bug fixes and improvements, and the first significant update in over a year. rooSwitch now sports an updated 512x512 icon, as well as a new color theme to bring it up-to-date with the unified look of Leopard. Users now have the ability to 'lock' a profile (Changes to a locked profile are thrown away when switching away from that profile). There is also a document preference to immediately switch to new profiles as they are created, as well as the ability to select multiple profiles at once to delete them.

Dropping files onto a profile will now check to see if a file of that name already exists and asks the user if they want to overwrite it with the file being dropped. This allows developers to receive pref files from customers and easily create a new profile with their preferences. Additionally, rooSwitch can now be used with Adobe AIR apps, further expanding its support for a multitude of applications.

Feature Highlights in Version 1.5:
* Updated color theme brings rooSwitch up-to-date with Leopard
* Ability to 'lock' profiles
* Cleaned up Preference Pane
* Support for Adobe AIR apps
* Document Preference to immediately switch to new profiles as they are created
* Ability to select multiple profiles at once to delete them
* Updated 512x512 icon
* Some minor switching bugs fixed

roobasoft provides a new screencasts section that demonstrate rooSwitch's multiple uses. rooSwitch won runner up for "Best Mac OS X Developer Tool" in Apple's design awards in 2007.

Pricing and Availability:
rooSwitch 1.5 is priced at only $19.00 (USD). 60 Day Money-Back Guarantee. A full-featured demo is available for download. The rooSwitch demo limits users to 32 switches.
