Katie Cotton, Apple's VP of Worldwide Corporate Communications, is retiring, reports Re/code.
During her nearly two decades at Apple, Cotton served as gatekeeper to company co-founder Steve Jobs and current CEO Tim Cook, and guided the media narrative around pretty much everything from the iMac to the iPad. She’s long been among the company’s most powerful executives and played a key role in shaping the mystique and exclusivity surrounding the Apple brand. Her departure from Apple is a milestone.
Apple spokesperson Steve Dowling said:
“Katie has given her all to this company for over 18 years. She has wanted to spend time with her children for some time now. We are really going to miss her.”
Cotton says the decision to leave Apple was one of her most difficult.
“This is hard for me,” she said. “Apple is a part of my heart and soul.”
I am in no doubt that she's joining Samsung. lol. Its better now than never to realize the best smart phone company and join them and enjoy being there
All the iSheeps would love to join Samsung in their inner heart. Most of them doesn't show as they were Sheeps from the beginning ( through they realized the mistake soon ) and it makes them ashamed to join
Why would she retire from apple, which is the mostly valuable company in the world and who's sales and profits keep climbing every year and quarter, To go to a company like Samsung who's sales and profits are dropping every year and quarter?
