Oscar winner Christian Bale is in talks to star in 'Jobs', a Sony biopic about the late Apple co-founder, reports Variety. The movie will be based on Walter Isaacson's biography 'Steve Jobs' and written by Aaron Sorkin.
Variety says that Danny Boyle will direct the film and Scott Rudin will produce along with Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady.
Sorkin previously revealed that the movie would be divided into three scenes that take place backstage before three Apple product launches.
“The first one being the Mac,” he said. “The second one being NeXT, after he had left Apple. And the third one being the iPod."
"It’s a little like writing about the Beatles," notes Sorkin. "There are so many people out there that know him and revere him."
Director David Fincher had previously been in talks to direct the movie; however, those apparently faltered due to Fincher's aggressive demands for compensation and control of the project.
Do you think Bale will make a good Jobs? Let us know what you think in the comments.
I love my Apple devices but another movie after the book is too much and for sure to soon, we got to accept that Steve is gone because he wanted to, he could have been with us now if only he did the surgery. So Apple is no longer the Apple we all knew and loved and we got to accept it and move on with the new Apple, no more movies please.
Steve or not, Apple will always be what is started as from the beginning and will always live up to this day. What has changed since Steve is gone? Iphone is still selling like an almighty source since the beginning, tim actually made a mind blowing new products that works better than competition, and best of all they are the world biggest global brand? What exactly is missing here?
Nat, you ask a serious question so I'll give you a serious answer: I just don't care! I don't understand why just because someone likes a product, they have to worship Steve Jobs. He wasn't that unique after all, he just worked on things that a lot of people use. There are far more interesting inventors and inventions.
reality check. No one would be as brilliant as jobs no matter how much brighter inventions try to be other than mobile or computer devices. Jobs will always be what he has been. Unique than ever even on his own without help.
