RoqyGPS is an application to connect external Bluetooth GPS antennas to your iPod Touch or iPhone.

Expected to available Cydia around September 28-30th, the application has successfully enabled the use of a bluetooth GPS antenna with MobileNavigator on the iPod touch.

Hi, just installed this on my iphone 3gs 3.1. tried switching the bluetooth stack & it always says, "error on startup, please try again". Also when i click about, it says "please switch on roqyBT to get the current version". Im trying to connect my 3gs to nokia gps dongle. Also is there any GPS signal quality difference between the iphone internal gps & ecternal gps receiver?

An iPhone yeah, but pointless on an iPod unless you have wifi around you

Why would you need WIFI if you have an application with full maps like WAZE, iGO, TOMTOM etc...

What a idiot idea. you need an external GPS to get your iPhone or iPod to work as an GPS?!? Why don't you just use the GPS as a GPS and do something else with your iPod/iPhone? Music maybe? next up: connect your car stereo to your ipod over bluetooth and listen to the radio on your iPod... LOL

You don't need a full featured Car GPS for this. You could just use a much cheaper bluetooth gps receiver (with no screen). So, yeah, this IS really useful.

Umm, Chris. You need to think a bit before answering stupidly and calling ideas idiot. You make the iPod serve as great Navigator (tested Navigon and was very nice with NOT landscape view but portrait. I loved portrait view :). Well after you have Navigon in it, then you get FM transmitter to iPod and you can listen the music from your iPod with car speakers. And its very easy to plug off when you leave car and you can have the music again with you.. Who's the Idiot?

okay, i'll just do this and wait for the correction/explanation if one is in order: Wifi has nothing to do with this! GPS is available to the iPhone via an internal GPS chip. Now, GPS is available to the iPod Touch via an external GPS chip. The connection between the Touch & the external chip, ultimately (however the chip is housed & whatever is involved in enabling the chip to interact), is achieved via Bluetooth.
