AT&T has gone live with its site for their 3G MicroCell offering.
The AT&T 3G MicroCell places a 3G network access point in your home. It allows wireless subscribers to use their home Internet connection for enhanced voice and data coverage.
The service is running as a "public trial" in Charlotte, North Carolina. The price for the MicroCell is $150 and the service is free unless you sign up for the unlimited talk option. The unlimited option costs $19.99/month.
Apparently the pricing is not set in stone as the service is still in trial.

Why would anyone want this unless they have bad Edge service in their area as well? I mean just use your Wi-Fi that you're already paying for.

If AT&T's service was up to par you wouldn't need this crap. They should give them things away to people that have bad service and not charge for anything.
