Samsung has unveiled a new concept for a Smart Windshield that connects with your smartphone.
"Samsung presents the Smart Windshield. The first technological windshield that connects with your smartphone so you can keep both hands on the handle bar. Thanks to its innovative technology, a dedicated app, and a Wi-Fi connection, the windshield has been transformed into a safety device.
Samsung Smart Windshield enables you to visualize the GPS navigator so you always know where to go, or who's calling, so you can decide if you want to stop and answer, or send an automatic message to explain you're on the road. You can also see who's texting or emailing and receive many other notifications as well. From now on, to check your smartphone while out riding you only need to look ahead."
The technology behind the Smart Windshield is available today and as vehicles begin to integrate with tech at a deeper level, we could see features of this type becoming more common.
As Apple CarPlay and Android Auto begin to gain traction, it will be interesting to see if companies like Samsung and Apple are able to convince car manufacturers to make more extensive use of their software.
