It appears that GeoHot has found a jailbreak for all iPhones and iPod touches running OS 3.1.
GeoHot made the announcement on his blog with a post entitled, "Meet the Family".
no affiliation to greenpois0n. and it's in some ways the complete opposite of purplera1n. but still 10 seconds. and may work for every version of software *ever*, based on the prettiness of the exploit
Stay tuned for more information once it becomes available.
and now, GEOHOST said that he will not deliver the software, because the chronic team said that they own the idea....BS, i think he never got nothing and he is playing with the world, nice joke dude, you got all really excited, and now you come out with this...BS, I think he never got nothing, just a photo with a bunch of iphones and ipod...what a joker...
I like GeoHot (George Hotz) as he was the first person to publicly announce a jailbreak for the iPhone and he continues to find ways to jailbreak iPhones. I like the Dev-Team as well, they do great work too.
GeoHot and the Dev-Team keep each other motivated to find new jailbreaks. They are both cocky and they have the right to be. When you start finding ways to jailbreak and unlock iPhones then you can be cocky too, but for right now i suggest you just show appreciation for the work that these two do and keep talking on your iPhone.
P.S. Did you know that George (GeoHot) is only 19??????
damn I didnt know he was 19 thats crazy the little man has a good future in computer technology ahead of him and i do appreciate how GeoHot and The Dev team make these jailbreaks and unlocks so i can really enjoy my iphone
seeing is believing and patching, I will wait until it comes out and after I jailbrake my iphone and I can use it in any network, I will say GeoHot RULES, but if this is only an announcement, then...I will keep my mouth shout and not saying he is a genius
Geohot may come up with some slick, quick "fixes", but the quality leaves something to be desired. His breaks aren't properly patched and cause tons of crashes with Cydia apps. Props for finding another innovative approach to cracking the iPhone, but I'll be sticking to Dev-Team.
It's not about the tool, it's about the exploit. Dev-Team is still using geohots exploits for jailbreak and unlock. The point is that he found an exploit for all devices and as he is saying for all firmwares (meaning future firmwares). That's the main thing here. It's up to you what tool will you use to jailbreak/unlock your iPhone then.
Dev-Team acknowledged the fact that they implemented Geohots idea into their work, but did the harder work of making it work all the way; debugging/patching the kernel.
Misinformation is only misinformation if it is not true. In addition to rain not working properly, Geohot endangered jailbreaks for future 3GS owners by being a cocky, hotshot and releasing his hack early. I am 3GS owner and I was dying for the new JB also, but understood that by waiting more people would be helped. There is a difference between talented and professional.
