Apple Store in the United States and United Kingdom are promoting Apple Pay by offering a $5 iTunes Gift Card to customers who signup for the service, reports MacRumors.
When making a purchase in store, Apple employees will ask customers if they would like to pay via Apple Pay. If a customer declines and does not have Apple Pay set up, employees will guide customers through the setup process to make the purchase and will offer a bonus $5 or £5 iTunes gift card for using Apple Pay as their payment method.
The gift cards are available to customers for any Apple Store purchase. If you return the product you bought, you'll still be able to keep the gift card for having set up Apple Pay.
Notably, Apple Pay just launched in France, making the company's mobile payment service available in a total of eight countries including the USA, Canada, UK, China, Australia, Switzerland, Singapore, and France.
The problem is that $5 itunes card is not enough to convince me to pay extra at the Apple Store when I can purchase iPad pro in elsewhere for couple hundred dollars cheaper.(got my iPad Pro 12.9" 32GB brand new for $640 with no tax from ebay seller)
I just want to verify my question, is this only valid in the physical Apple Store, or can I also get the gift card from the App Store on my iPhone. I'm guessing you can only get the $5 Gift card from physically going go the Apple Store.
