Don’t make announcements you can’t follow up on. The fingerprint should have been kept though in addition face detection. Try opening that from a bedside position with 90% of your face in the pillow.

Don't care about the comments, apple will eventually have something down the road. When they do it it works the way it should. Bin there many times where companies say this and than bb it never works the way it should. Nobody got anything blown up in there faces or tables so this is a win not a loose. People are the only ones that lost here, if they want a power mat that's so perfect they should go build one themselves.

Blind fanboyism comment. Doesn’t acknowledge at all the fact that Apple no longer innovates. Post-Steve Jobs Apple is a shell of a company that is more interested in bleeding the consumer than in anything else.

One proof that Apple is no longer even close to being a leader in innovation. They actually gave up because their research and development team failed. They’ll just have to wait for Samsung or another company to design a successful charging mat which they can then copy a few years down the road.

I like Apple being honest and upfront about issues they encountered during the AirPower development. It’s much better a cancelled project, than a half-baked release *cough* Samsung *cough* 😂😂.

:/ ya real upfront and transparent; They just released an updated pair of AirPods barely days ago that claim “AirPower compatible” as virtually the only real improvement. You don’t think they could have either waited to release or disclosed the abandonment of AirPower mat before their release? They waited because they’re crooks and disclosing this new prior to AirPods release would have affected sales. You dingbat
