there may be a way to do that, but it will require a jailbreak, or for you to provide the imel number for one of the many unlock services to unlock it for you, if it works on gsm if will be like the verizon iphone 5 on 3g

replace your phone with apple and buy the factory unlock online which will cost you a lot of money. I would recomend you to sell that phone and buy the At&t version and get it unlock really cheap
