How to put DFU mode instead od pwned DFU mode?

Every time i tried to put my iphone 4 in DFU mode it goes to the PWNED DFU why?
need help, because i want to upgrade my ios 5.0.1 to 5.1.1, and in the end of the process redsn0w always says that i've to be on DFU, and I can't...

I finally got it to go in DFU mode. I just persevered until it started in DFU mode. I did exactly the same thing using redsn0w and after at least 6 tries it finally went into DFU mode. I am not aware of having done anything different when it finally went into DFU mode so I can't even tell you what to try.

I'm having exactly the same problem except with a 3GS running 6.0. I'm using redsn0w and following the instructions correctly and it keeps going into pwned DFU.
